Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's city of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postal boxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.
Police report they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued fluid.
The substance had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.
Police then found numerous other smeared automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under legislation banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement say preliminary tests show the liquid was likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to where it came from; investigators are not yet aware of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.
Local authorities announced they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have appealed to the public for details.
A senior political figure commented the attack made him without words and required to be solved promptly.
"This incident hits the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he wrote on social media, referring to the killing of nine victims by a shooter targeting people of migrant background in February 2020.
