Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Medvedev won his initial title for 882 days with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the competition final.

Medvedev, a former number one, has endured a torrid period, achieving just one win at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term mentor Cervara.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought three-set victory over challenger Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and initial on a hardcourt after that period of that year.

The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters together, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving play style and recurring emotional displays on court had prompted some to doubt if his ability to perform at the top level was over.

But the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult opponent, winning four of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The pair traded break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his first ATP Tour victory, gained dominance to push for a third set.

The opponent rescued four early chances in a tight deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.

Fittingly, the winner secured the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
